Report: Juventus name price for Weston McKennie – Conte and Spurs interested

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are willing to cash in on Weston McKennie this summer amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

McKennie was reported to be one of the midfielders on Antonio Conte’s wishlist ahead of the January transfer window, with the Italian allegedly viewing the Juve star as the new Arturo Vidal (Gazzetta).

Calciomercato reported earlier this month that the Spurs boss had instructed the North London club’s hierarchy to snap up the USA international this summer.

Gazzetta have now reported that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici is a ‘huge admirer’ of McKennie, having played an instrumental role in taking the midfielder to Juventus.

It is asserted that Spurs believe the 23-year-old would do well under Conte and are thus showing interest in the player ahead of the summer.

The report claims that Juve would be willing to cash in on McKennie for a fee of around €40m (£33.9m) in light of the Texan falling down Massimiliano Allegri’s pecking order over recent months.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can see this rumoured transfer having plenty of legs. We know that both Paratici and Conte are fans of McKennie and that Spurs need a number eight this summer, with both Ndombele and Lo Celso on their way out.

Paratici also has a good relationship with the Juve hierarchy and so I would not be surprised if he looks to raid his former club again for the American this summer following the captures of Bentancur and Kulusevski in January.
