Report: Juventus open talks for Ajax midfielder said to be on Tottenham’s radar

Juventus are reported to have entered into talks with Ajax for rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Ryan Gravenberch.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Juventus have long admired the midfielder and have began to make their move to bring him to Serie A.

Gravenberch is under contract with Ajax until June 2023 and is yet to agree to an extension with the Eredivisie champions.

Tottenham are also said to hold an interest in the 19-year-old along with a host of European clubs including Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal (Fichajes).

The box-to-box Dutch teenager has previously revealed that he is not prepared to leave the club of which he came through the academy ranks on a free transfer with his determination that Ajax receive a fee for his exit would suggest that he would either leave at the end of the current campaign or pen a new contract extension.

Gravenberch would fit Tottenham’s criteria of a young, talented player who can be part of the side for a number of years ahead, however, his performances for Ajax have made him a highly sought after target and the north Londoners will struggle to compete with the likes of Juventus if they cannot offer the lure of Champions League football.
