Report: Kane involved England in meeting to address discipline issues

Sky Sports have revealed that Harry Kane, along with other senior members of the England squad, has held a meeting with the players to discuss the importance of discipline, on the back of some high-profile recent lapses.

Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons last month as they broke the coronavirus guidelines while on England duty in Iceland, by inviting outsiders to their hotel room (The Sun).

Both the Manchester United and Manchester City players were subsequently axed from the squad, with Kane admitting at the time that he had texted both youngsters, offering them his support and telling them to learn from the incident (Express).

Sky Sports revealed that the latest breach which saw Tammy Abraham, Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell attend a party at Abraham’s flat, has left Gareth Southgate furious.

The report claims that England’s senior leadership, led by captain Kane, held a separate meeting with the rest of the squad to remind them of their responsibilities when they represent their country.

It is said that Kane and co warned the younger players in the squad about social media activity, being in the spotlight and observing strict rules in and around the England camp.
