Report: Key Chelsea star set to miss London derby vs Tottenham through injury

It has emerged that Chelsea will be without Enzo Fernandez for the derby against Tottenham Hotspur next week.

Tottenham have a tough end to the season, having to play all three of the title contenders in their final six matches of the season.

That is not all as they also have a trip to Stamford Bridge on the horizon, with the Lilywhites facing two back-to-back derbies against the Gunners and the Blues over the next seven days.

While Chelsea have had a poor season and are currently languishing in ninth place in the table, they tend to raise their game when they play Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou’s men have also struggled to string decent performances together away from home over the past couple of months and Spurs historically have a poor record at Stamford Bridge.

However, Tottenham have received a boost ahead of that fixture after learning that Chelsea will be without one of their main stars.

Argentine journalist Hernan Castillo has taken to social media to reveal that Fernandez has had a hernia operation and is expected to be out of action until Copa America in the summer.

While losing Fernadez is a blow to Chelsea and Pochettino’s men are lacking in confidence at the moment, form usually goes out of the window in derbies. The Blues will likely throw the kitchen sink at us and will not make it easy.
