It has been widely reported that Gallagher is one of Ange Postecoglou’s top targets for the summer, with The Telegraph claiming on Wednesday that the reason Spurs pulled out of the deal is because Chelsea quoted a much higher price to them than they did to Atletico Madrid.
However, Gallagher’s move to the Spanish capital is now in jeopardy, with various outlets reporting that the midfielder is back training with Chelsea.
This is reportedly because the La Liga club do not have the finances to sign the player after striker Samu Omorodion’s proposed move to the Blues collapsed due to disagreements over personal terms (BBC Sport).
