Report: La Liga club could make late move for Tottenham defender – Not Tanganga

According to Super Deporte, Levante are considering a late approach to sign Tottenham defender Joe Rodon.

Rodon has made just two starts since Antonio Conte arrived at Tottenham and Football.London’s Alasdair Gold reported in December that the centre-back was keen to leave the club on loan in order to get some minutes under his belt.

However, with just over two days left until the window slams shut, the Wales international does not appear close to sealing an exit.

Sky Sports reported earlier this week that there had been no concrete interest in Rodon thus far.

However, The Telegraph claimed on Friday that Brighton could make a move for the 24-year-old if Seagulls defender Dan Burn completes his proposed move to Newcastle.

Super Deporte have now revealed that Levante may also be about to enter the race for Rodon.

It is explained that the La Liga club view the Tottenham man as an alternative to Demirspor centre-back Simon Deli.

The report states that Levante are facing problems in closing the operation to sign Deli and could thus turn their attention to the former Swansea man.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Paratici or the Spurs board can be blamed for not being able to shift some of our deadwood like Rodon.

Not a lot of clubs around Europe have money to throw around and those who are interested in the likes of Ndombele, Lo Celso and Rodon, only seem to want to do loan deals.

That was always going to be an issue in the January window and I believe that our inability to move these players on is the main reason we have not yet pulled the plug on any new signings.
