Report: La Liga club could receive ‘very high’ offer from Spurs for winger

The print edition of Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could make a substantial offer for Ousmane Dembele this month.

Dembele’s current deal at the Camp Nou runs out in the summer and it was previously reported that Spurs were one of the clubs showing interest in snapping up the winger in the January transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano claimed last month that the Catalan giants had opened talks with the 24-year-old’s representatives regarding a new contract and they were ‘confident’ an agreement would be reached.

However, since then, it has emerged that Barca’s talks with the French international regarding a new deal have collapsed.

Sport have now offered an update on Dembele’s future, revealing that Spurs have ‘contacted’ the former Borussia Dortmund man’s representatives regarding a January transfer.

The report claims that ‘very high figures’ could arrive from the North London club for the French international.

Interestingly, it is explained that the La Liga giants could make a move for Adama Traore should Dembele leave this month.

Traore is also alleged to be a target for Tottenham, with Conte said to want to convert the Wolves man into a right wing-back.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Steven Bergwijn potentially on his way out of Tottenham this month, one would expect the North London club to be in the market for a winger.

However, I have my doubts over whether Dembele will be a good fit for Conte’s set-up despite the Frenchman’s abundance of talent.
