Report: La Liga club keen to make move for 24-year-old Tottenham star

According to a report from Fichajes.net, Sevilla are interested in a move for Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele ahead of the January transfer window.

Ndombele allegedly asked to leave Tottenham during the summer transfer window but the midfielder stayed put and has established himself as a regular in Nuno Espirito Santo’s starting eleven over the past few weeks.

Despite putting in some top-class performances this season, the 24-year-old has continued to struggle for consistency, just as he did in his first couple of years in North London.

Fichajes have now claimed that Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui wants to add a player of Ndombele’s attributes to his squad.

It is asserted that the La Liga club’s director of football Monchi ‘has set his sight sights’ on a January move for the Tottenham man.

The report explains that while the former Lyon man is ‘enjoying’ featuring regularly under Nuno this season, he would be open to a move to the Spanish club.

It is also asserted that Daniel Levy ‘knows that now is the right moment’ to sell the midfielder and that the French international would be available for a fee between €35m (£29.4m) and €45m (£37.8m).

Spurs Web Opinion

There are a couple of reasons why I doubt a move to Sevilla is on the cards for Ndombele. Firstly, I am not sure Levy will accept less than £45m for the midfielder. Additionally, I cannot see Sevilla breaking their wage structure to meet the Frenchman’s £200,000-a-week salary.
