Report: La Liga club may be forced to sell Spurs and Arsenal-linked star this summer

Catalan outlet ARA have claimed that Barcelona could be willing t0 offload Ansu Fati in the summer amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The speculation linking Fati with a move to Tottenham first emerged earlier this week when Mundo Deportivo reported that several clubs across Europe, including Spurs, had been alerted by the 20-year-old’s situation since he had fallen down Xavi Hernandez’s pecking order.

The report claimed that it was Bayern Munich who had enquired about the forward’s availability most often over recent weeks.

Tottenham’s interest in Fati was also backed up by the print edition of La Vanguardia (08/02/23 via Sport Witness), who claimed on Wednesday that both Spurs and their North London rivals, Arsenal, are considering making an offer for the youngster.

ARA have now also reported on the interest of the two North London clubs in the 20-year-old and they described the player’s current situation at Camp Nou as a ‘mess’.

The publication adds that Barcelona might be forced into the ‘painful sale’ of Fati in the summer since they need to raise some much-needed cash.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Barcelona put Fati up for sale in the summer, there will likely be a whole host of clubs, particularly from the Premier League, vying for the 20-year-old’s signature.

I do not see Spurs getting involved in that bidding war as the Lilywhites would not want to spend the majority of their transfer budget to strengthen their attack.
