Report: La Liga club name asking price for defender linked with Spurs

According to a report in La Nazione (as relayed by GFNI), Real Madrid are open to cashing on rumoured Tottenham target Alvaro Odriozola in the summer.

Madrid signed Odriozola from Real Sociedad three years ago but the right-back has not been handed much game time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 26-year-old was rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar last summer (Tuttocercatoweb) but the North Londoners ended up snapping up Emerson Royal from Barcelona instead.

Odriozola eventually completed a loan move to Fiorentina last summer and he has been a consistent performer for the Viola this campaign.

La Nazione now reveal that Fiorentina wanted an option to buy inserted into the loan deal last summer but Madrid refused to include such a clause.

However, it is explained that Los Blancos have now changed their mind and would be willing to sell Odriozola when the transfer market reopens.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men allegedly want a fee in the region of €20m-€25m (£16.6m-£20.8m) for the Spain international.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that Spurs will be in the market for a right wing-back next summer, with Emerson seemingly not a good fit for the role and Doherty looking like he does not have a future at the club.

However, Conte will likely want a better player than Odriozola, who has certainly not set the world alight over the last two seasons. Perhaps Spurs will look to sign a winger of Traore’s mould and convert him into a right-back as Conte has done in the past.
