Report: La Liga club open to selling striker amid Tottenham’s rumoured interest

According to El Desmarque, Real Sociedad are open to selling rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Willian Jose before the transfer window shuts.

Despite being on the verge of a deal to re-sign Gareth Bale, reports indicate that Spurs still want to sign another centre-forward this window (Football.London).

Jose was rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar in January (The Sun) but the North Londoners failed to get a deal for him over the line.

Spurs have been backed to return for the Brazilian’s services this summer, with Calcio Mercato reporting last week that they could make an offer between €20m and €25m for the striker’s services.

El Desmarque now reveals that Jose’s relationship with Sociedad has not improved since he pressured the club to sell him to Tottenham in January.

It is said that the La Liga club are waiting on the Lilywhites to make another approach for the striker and have lined up Sevilla’s Carlos Fernandez and Guadalajara’s Jose Juan Macias as potential replacements.

Spurs Web Opinion

After the fees we have shelled out on Bale’s contract and Reguillon’s transfer fee, I do not expect us to spend more than £20m on a centre-forward this window. So, I do not believe there is any chance of us making an Andrea Belotti or Danny Ings type of signing. It is anybody’s guess at this point who we actually end up signing as reports indicate that we have quite a long list of striker targets.
