Report: La Liga club see 26-year-old Spurs player as a top target this summer

Spanish news outlet Fichajes have revealed that Real Sociedad are eyeing a move for Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon this summer.

Reguilon has endured a campaign to forget on loan at Atletico Madrid, having suffered multiple injuries and played just 233 minutes across all competitions in 2022-23.

Despite his struggles at Atletico, Fichajes state that he is seen as an ‘interesting option’ by Real Sociedad, who are said to be keen on strengthening at left-back ahead of their foray into the Champions League.

The report reveals that the Spain international is the club’s top target for the role, with the player said to be looking for a new destination in La Liga since he is no longer in Tottenham’s plans.

The publication adds that should Sociedad fail with a move for the 26-year-old, they could turn their attention to either Celta’s Javi Galan or Bayern Munich‘s Daley Blind.

Fichajes do not mention whether the La Liga club would look to sign Reguilon on loan or a permeant deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given the various injury problems that Reguilon has had over the last 18 months, I do not think any club would be prepared to pay a transfer fee for the left-back this summer.

So, Tottenham would likely have no choice but to loan out the 26-year-old again next season.
