Report: La Liga side make €20million offer for rumoured Spurs target

Sevilla have reportedly made a €20million offer for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to reports from Turkey.

Cakir has been in brilliant form in the Turkish Super Lig for the past couple of seasons, with his excellent shot-stopping ability attracting the interest of clubs (Fotospor).

Spurs have reportedly already had an offer rejected for the goalkeeper (Karadeniz Gazete) but the North Londoners are reportedly determined to get the 24-year-old who is said to be rated highly by Jose Mourinho (Fanatik via Sport Witness).

Milliyet now claim that Sevilla have leapfrogged Tottenham, Liverpool and Leicester City to head the queue for Cakir’s signature.

The report suggests that the Turkish international is likely to leave this summer with the La Liga club now making an opening offer of €20million.

It is claimed that Trabzonspor were initially hoping to get at least €30 million for the keeper but are now prepared to accept a lower fee due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given how many goalkeepers we have been linked with over the past couple of months, it is clear that the club have started their search for Lloris’ longterm replacement. I am not sure we will sign a goalkeeper this summer unless some great deal opens up. However, I suspect that next season could be Hugo’s final campaign as Spurs number one.
