Report: La Liga star has been put ‘up for sale’ after links with Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur could be on alert as Valencia have reportedly made Giorgi Mamardashvili available for transfer and will sell the goalkeeper for €20-25 million.

Current Tottenham number one Hugo Lloris suffered a poor campaign last year and his deteriorating form has led the club to seek out a replacement.

Lloris himself has even gone on record to discuss his future and the Frenchman made it clear he is ready to move on and find a new challenge (Nice-Matin).

As things stand, Spurs appear to be the front runners to sign Brentford keeper David Raya. Apparently, personal terms have been agreed with the Spaniard and only the matter of a transfer fee remains (Fabrizio Romano).

It is thought Brentford are looking for £40 million for the 27-year-old, while Spurs are reluctant to meet that valuation due to the player having just a year left on his current deal (Telegraph).

Valencia put Mamardashvilli up for sale

If money is an issue, Tottenham Hotspur may well be happy to learn that another of their targets is now on the market for far less than Raya’s price tag.

That’s according to Radio Marca, who claim Valencia‘s financial situation leaves them open to accepting a lower transfer fee for Giorgi Mamardashvili.

It is believed the keeper is now “up for sale” as the La Liga side look to raise funds. Mamardashvili will apparently now be sold for a fee which does “not exceed €20-25 million.”

Whether Spurs swoop for the Georgian keeper or not, he is a player who is thought to have “great projection in Europe” and a queue of suitors is likely to be intrigued by this development.

I would rather us sign David Raya, but having Mamardashvili available at such a reduced fee is definitely something we should be looking into in case anything goes wrong with the negotiations with Brentford.
