Report: La Liga star wants move to Premier League amidst Spurs links

90 min have claimed that Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, is keen on joining a Premier League club.

Fichajes.net were the first to report on Tottenham’s interest in Oblak, with the publication claiming earlier this week that the Atletico number one is stalling on a new contract and exploring other options.

The report suggested that with the goalkeeper’s current deal running out at the end of the season, Diego Simeone’s men are open to selling him for €30m (£26.8m) in January.

The Evening Standard subsequently revealed a couple of days ago that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have held discussions regarding Hugo Lloris’ successor, and that the Atletico star is their number one target to replace the Frenchman.

However, if 90 min’s latest update is to be believed, Oblak has signed a six-year contract at the Metropolitano Stadium, even though the deal is yet to be made public.

They claim that despite signing a new deal, the Slovenian is unsettled in the Spanish Capital and wants a move away from the club.

The report asserts that playing in England is a ‘huge ambition’ for Oblak and suggests that Atletico could replace the 29-year-old with Manchester United’s David De Gea.

Spurs Web Opinion

The claim about Oblak’s contract by 90 min is quite interesting as that contradicts what Fichajes.net reported earlier this week. If it is true that the goalkeeper has signed a six-year deal in the summer, that means he could potentially cost double the £26m price that was initially suggested.
