Report: Lack of international minutes for Bissouma as match called off

Football.London have revealed that Yves Bissouma did not see much action during the international break after Mali’s clash against Zambia on Monday was called off under unexpected circumstances.

Bissouma has started just once for Tottenham so far this season and the midfielder might have been hoping to get some game time during the international break, with Mali having a double-header against Zambia.

However, that did not quite materialise for the Brighton man, who was on the bench for the first of the two clashes on Friday, coming on for the final 27 minutes of the 1-0 victory.

The Tottenham man was named in the starting lineup for the second clash on Monday but Football.London reveal that the game was suspended just 15 minutes in as a heavy downpour struck and flooded the pitch.

The match was eventually called off by the Malian match officials, which meant that Bissouma got only 42 minutes of action during the international break.

Spurs Web Opinion

Conte will not be displeased that the match was suspended as it means that Bissouma will be quite fresh on his return to the club.

Although we looked good when we shifted to a 3-5-2 against Leicester, I think Conte will likely start with a 3-4-3 against Arsenal, which means that Bissouma will have to be content with a place on the bench again.
