Report: Spurs could use Erik Lamela in player-plus-cash deal for striker

Tottenham could look to secure a deal for Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik by offering a cash-plus-player deal involving Erik Lamela, according to GiveMeSport.

Jose Mourinho is believed to be in the market for a back up to Harry Kane this summer and Napoli’s Milik fits the bill. In the 17 Serie A appearances made by Milik this season, the Polish striker has netted on 10 occasions (Transfermarkt).

The 26-year-old striker has just one year left on his contract with the Italian giants, but Mourinho is expected to have to sell players in order to fund a potential move.

However, Erik Lamela is viewed as possible leverage to tempt Napoli into selling Milik to Spurs this summer in a player swap deal.

The Argentine has impressed in the two games since the return to Premier League action last week.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lamela is like marmite to Spurs fans. Many hate him and some love him. Considering the options we now have in the attacking midfielder role, I don’t think this would be the worst of moves for a striker who could do a job in giving Kane some rest.
