Report: Latest update means Tottenham won’t play again until at least April 30

Tottenham Hotspur will now be out of action until April 30 at the very earliest, which has been revealed this afternoon on Sky Sports News.

The report claims that the announcement stems from the FA, Premier League, and women’s professional game, together with both the LMA and PFA.

The extended suspension comes in the midst of the COVID-19 virus which has been sweeping the UK and wider Europe for the past month.

With the government advising against gatherings and social interactions, sporting events were one of the first things to be cancelled.

The original statement last week claimed that this suspension would run until April 4 at the earliest (BBC), although that has now been extended.

However, the report also adds that the leagues are fully committed to finishing the current season.

Tottenham have been training at Hotspur Way this week, but it remains to be seen whether they continue or ask their players and staff to head into self-isolation (Football London).
