Report: Lazio plotting summer move for player who is said to be unhappy at Spurs

Italian publication Citta Celeste have claimed that Lazio are plotting a summer move for Pierluigi Gollini, who is currently on loan at Tottenham from Atalanta.

Spurs have the option to sign Gollini on a permanent basis for £13m at the end of his season-long loan spell at the club. (Sky Sports).

However, the Italian has found opportunities to be few and far between this season, having not featured in a single Premier League game to date.

Citta Celeste have suggested that the 26-year-old is not happy with his lack of game time in North London and is ‘determined to leave’ at the end of the season.

It is claimed that Spurs will not take up the option to sign the goalkeeper permanently and that he will return to Atalanta.

The report reveals that Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri is an admirer of Gollini, who is thought to be keen to be a starter at his next club.

It is suggested that Lazio could try to snap the Italian international from Atalanta in the summer transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is pretty evident now that Tottenham are not going to take up the option to sign Gollini permanently. So, Spurs will be on the lookout for an understudy to Lloris yet again in the summer, assuming the Frenchman signs an extension.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs go for a clear number two like or if they potentially try and sign a young, up and coming goalkeeper, who they feel could take over from Lloris in a year or two.
