Report: Leeds’ patience has ‘run out’ with prospective club over Raphinha

Leeds United no longer consider Barcelona a viable destination for Tottenham target Raphinha as they do not believe the La Liga club would be able to meet their asking price, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Raphinha is reportedly on the radars of Barca, Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea, with The Athletic reporting earlier this week that while moving to Camp Nou is the winger’s preference, the Catalan club’s pursuit of the winger is held up by their financial problems.

Mundo Deportivo suggest that Leeds’ patience with the Catalan giants has now run out since they are tired of waiting for the club to make a suitable offer.

The Elland Road hierarchy are now said to be negotiating with other interested clubs and have reportedly ruled out Barca from the race for the winger.

The report adds that Leeds believe the La Liga side cannot meet their asking price or Raphinha’s salary demands, and instead now opened talks with Premier League clubs, who are willing to pay the sort of figures that Barca cannot afford.

Mundo Deportivo believe that Jesse Marsch’s side are demanding a fee of €70m (£60.1m) plus €15m (£12.8m) in bonuses for the wide-man, with Arsenal said to be leading the race for the player at the moment.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect that Conte would prefer Richarlison over Raphinha if he had a direct choice between the two. However, there is no doubt that Raphinha is an extremely talented player and allowing him to join a direct rival like Arsenal or Chelsea would not be ideal for us.
