However, the 22-year-old’s future remains uncertain as he will enter the final year of his contract at the Red Bull Arena in June.

Some outlets have revealed over the last couple of weeks that Spurs are considering making a move for the centre-forward, who is also alleged to be on the radar of several Serie A clubs (Il Mattino).

Salzburger Nachrichten have now reported that Okafo has been scouted by several clubs this season, including Tottenham, with the striker now said to be ‘poised to take the next step’ in his career.

The publication states that Leeds United, AC Milan and Napoli have also expressed interest in the Swiss international’s services.

It is explained that Okafor does not want to sign a new deal with Salzburg, which is why the Austrian club are now hoping to collect €20m-€25m (£17.4m-£21.8m) from his sale this summer.

Tottenham’s plans regarding the centre-forward role this summer will revolve sound the future of Harry Kane.

The one thing we all know is that Kane’s future is not going to get resolved early in the window.

However, Spurs will also be wary of sanctioning a sale too late as they would not have sufficient time to sign a replacement.
