Report: Leeds United are interested in signing former Tottenham striker

According to a report in Tuttosport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Fernando Llorente may be set for a return to the Premier League, with Leeds United showing an interest in snapping up the former Tottenham man.

Llorente scored some important goals for Spurs in the Premier League and Champions League when he served as Harry Kane’s main understudy for two years after joining from Swansea in 2017.

He made a promising start to life at the San Paolo Stadium after leaving Spurs to join Napoli last summer but he fell down the pecking order after the arrival of Genaro Gattuso.

Area Napoli relayed a report from RAI journalist Ciro Venerato earlier this month in which he claimed that Everton and West Ham were both showing interest in the 35-year-old.

Tuttosport now claim that Marcelo Bielsa has been a fan of Llorente since he managed the striker at Atletico Bilbao. It is said that the Argentine wants a reunion with the experienced frontman at Elland Road.
