Report: Manager holds one-on-one talks player after tough season

Leeds United manager, Marcelo Bielsa, has reportedly held one-on-one talks with youngster Jack Clarke amidst a difficult season for the Spurs man (Football Insider).

Tottenham signed Clarke from Leeds back in the summer, finally ending a near-18-month transfer drought, before loaning him back to the Championship club.

While the idea was likely to increase Clarke’s opportunity for game time and progression, it hasn’t exactly gone that way for the teenager this year.

Clarke is yet to play a single second of Championship football this season, with his only game time coming in two EFL Cup games (Transfer Markt).

While Clarke was axed from the squad completely for eight consecutive games earlier in the season, he has been on the bench for the last six as an unused substitute.

Surprisingly, Bielsa has apparently told Clarke that he is happy with his efforts and that he is doing better than last season, despite not playing him.

He did not question Clarke’s attitude or performance, but instead urged him to keep going.
