Report: Left-sided player set to return to North London after deal expires

Anthony Georgiou is set to return to Tottenham Hotspur after his loan deal with Bolton Wanderers expired on Tuesday, according to a report by the Bolton News.

The loan deal was originally supposed to run until the end of the League One campaign only for the coronavirus pandemic to cause the season to grind to a halt.

FIFA have relaxed the transfer windows to allow clubs flexibility if the season is resumed (Daily Mail).

However, it is said that Bolton have no plans of hanging on to their loanees, even if the EFL is to announce that the League One season will be played to a conclusion.

Georgiou, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Ipswich, joined the Trotters on deadline day in January.

The Cypriot international has only played just 36 minutes of football over two appearances at Wimbledon and Burton (transfermarkt.com), due to the injuries he suffered.

The left-winger was used at left-back by Mauricio Pochettino during the club’s pre-season, will now return to North London.
