Report: Leicester City prioritise move for Tottenham-linked centre-back

According to The Telegraph, Leicester City are ready to make a push for Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, who is also said to be on Tottenham’s radar.

It was previously reported that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici is a fan of Bremer and is keen on bringing him to North London this summer (CalcioMercato).

Liverpool are also expected to compete with Spurs for the Brazilian’s signature, with TuttoJuve backing the Reds to launch a €30m (£25m) offer for the defender.

The Telegraph have now revealed that Spurs may face competition from another Premier League rival in the form of Leicester.

The report claims that Brendan Rodgers is keen to freshen up his options at centre-back and the Torino star is at the top of the Leicester boss’ wishlist.

The Foxes are expected to make a push for Bremer as they allegedly see him as the ideal choice to play at left centre-back.

It is asserted that Torino value the central defender at around £40m ahead of the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe Conte will prefer a left-footed player for the left centre-back position in order to maintain balance. That is why I do not think Bremer is likely to be at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist. Someone like Alessandro Bastoni or Pau Torres would arguably be a better fit for Conte’s system.
