Report: Leicester set to be without eleven players for Spurs clash

Football.London have revealed that Leicester City are set to be without a whole host of first-team stars for their Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow evening.

Tottenham were not pleased at the North London derby being called off on Sunday and Antonio Conte’s men will be hoping to get back on track in the race for the top four with a win over Leicester.

This is the first time that the two sides are set to meet this season after Tottenham’s trip to the King Power Stadium was postponed last month due to a Covid-19 outbreak.

Spurs could be without some of their first-team stars for the clash, with the likes of Son Heung-min, Eric Dier, Cristian Romero and Steven Bergwijn being doubtful.

However, the home side have far more absentees to contend with as they are expected to be without 11 players due to injuries, international duty and illness.

Ricardo Pereira, Timothy Castagne, Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana, Ryan Bertrand and Jamie Vardy are all sidelined with injuries.

Meanwhile, Daniel Amartey, Nampalys Mendy, Wilfried Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho are currently at the African Cup of Nations while Boubakary Soumare is out with illness.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know from the precedent that the Premier League have set by calling off the North London derby that Leicester might only need to have one or two positive Covid-19 cases in their camp for the game to be suspended. So, let’s hope that nothing emerges at the last minute as Spurs cannot afford to have another match postponed.
