Report: Levy considering former Liverpool boss as new manager option for Spurs

The Daily Mail have revealed that Rafael Benitez is among the candidates that Tottenham Hotspur are considering as they continue their search for a new head coach.

Several names have been mooted for the Tottenham hot seat since Jose Mourinho’s sacking a week ago but multiple sources seem to suggest that Julian Nagelsmann was the club’s number one target (TelegraphGuardian).

However, it was revealed this morning that Nagelsmann will join Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign.

The Daily Mail have now claimed that the 33-year-old moved to the Allianz Arena as he preferred the Bayern job over the Spurs one.

However, it was added that the Leipzig boss spoke to contacts in the English game about the North London club and the experience of working with Daniel Levy.

The report revealed that Benitez, who is currently in charge of the Chinese Super League club Dalian Professional, is among the candidates being considered by Spurs, along with Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo, Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers, and former Juventus coach Max Allegri.

I would personally rather see Spurs handing the job to an up and coming manager like Parker or Potter over the likes of Espirito Santo, Allegri or Benitez, who are just as pragmatic in their approach as Mourinho is.
