Report: Levy has a soft spot for summer transfer target

Daniel Levy reportedly has a soft spot for Atalanta right-back Timothy Castagne, who is reported to be on Tottenham’s radar this summer.

Spurs have been linked with a number of right-backs over the past few weeks including the likes of Thomas Meunier (ESPN) and Max Aarons (Soccer Link).

Recent reports have also suggested that Tottenham are in advanced talks with Serie A outfit Atalanta over the signing of Castagne (TuttoMercatoWeb via Daily Mail).

Het Nieuwsblad (as relayed by Sport Witness) now report that Paris Saint Germain also want the Atalanta star as a replacement for Meunier.

The report, however, claims that the Lilywhites are in pole position for the 24-year-old’s signature this summer, with Levy said to be favouring a move for the defender.

This report is consistent with the news from L’Equipe earlier this week that the Spurs chairman is yet to be convinced by Mourinho to make a move for Meunier.

Spurs Web Opinion

I really like the look of Castagne and believe he will be a better addition than Meunier. However, I find it really hard to believe that Levy would prefer the Atalanta star over Meunier who is available on a free transfer, particularly when Mourinho is said to prefer the PSG defender.
