Report: Levy has already touted Bale return to Mourinho

According to Bleacher Report, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is open to the prospect of bringing Gareth Bale back to North London if Jose Mourinho wishes to add him to his squad.

Bale has had a tumultuous time in Madrid this season with many fans growing hostile to the winger following his unveiling of the infamous banner that read, ‘Wales, Golf, Madrid – In that order’ after successfully qualifying to Euro 2020 with the principality (ESPN).

It is said that Los Blancos are keen to get rid of the Welshman and Spurs are being mooted as the most likely destination for him.

The report claims interestingly that Levy already put the idea of signing Bale to Mourinho when negotiations were ongoing between the pair for the Spurs job.

It is suggested that the Spurs could pursue a loan deal for Bale but that Real are keen to look for permanent buyers for the pacey forward.

If it is true that Levy has offered Bale to Mourinho, then looking at Jose’s track record, there is no reason to believe he would have turned down the option of signing another world-class talent. However, the former Spurs star will have to take a massive wage cut for this to even be a possibility.
