Report: Levy in ‘no hurry’ as rumoured managerial target plots PL return

According to a report from The Sun, Roberto Martinez, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, is keen on a return to the Premier League after the European Championship this summer.

Martinez had stints at Wigan and Everton before being appointed by Belgium three years ago. The Spaniard has guided the Red Devils to number one in the world rankings and his side go into this summer’s Euros as one of the favourites.

Previous reports have claimed that Martinez is one of the names on Spurs’ radar but some sources have suggested that the former Everton boss is unlikely to get the job since Daniel Levy is keen to confirm an appointment before the end of the season.

However, The Sun now claim that the Spurs chairman is in no hurry to appoint a successor to Mourinho.

It is said that Martinez wants to get back into the daily involvement of club football and would welcome a return to the Premier League.

The report asserts that the 48-year-old even has trusted backroom staff who could take pre-season training at Spurs during Belgium’s campaign in the summer.
