Report: Levy prepared to make target second-highest-paid PL manager

According to a report from 90 min, Daniel Levy is prepared to make Brendan Rodgers the second-highest-paid manager in the Premier League after Pep Guardiola if the Leicester boss takes the Tottenham job.

Rodgers has ruled himself out of running for the Spurs job but previous reports indicated that the North Londoners have still not given up hope of landing him.

90 min have now backed up the claim that the former Liverpool boss remains Tottenham’s number one target.

The report claims that while Spurs are prepared to break the bank for Rodgers, Leicester have also made it clear that they will rival any offer he receives.

It is revealed that Tottenham have been approached by intermediaries of close to 20 managers, all of whom are interested in the vacancy.

However, Spurs are said to be keeping their options open and are keen to put as much thought as possible into the appointment.

The report asserts that the club will not hire a new manager until the season is over.

I certainly understand why the club would want to take their time with this decision as we cannot afford to get the appointment wrong and risk going even further backwards.

If it is the case that the club are carefully assessing each option and are prepared to interview several candidates, then I would not be surprised if Graham Potter gets the job.

He comes across as an extremely impressive and level headed individual and I can the Spurs hierarchy being impressed with the Brighton boss.
