Report: Ligue 1 club are now ready to submit a bid for Tottenham defender

L’Equipe have revealed that Monaco are now set to launch an offer for Tottenham centre-back Davinson Sanchez.

Sanchez has just one year left on his contract at Spurs and it has been widely reported since the start of the summer that the Colombian is one of the players that the club will look to offload during the current transfer window (Football.London).

However, the 27-year-old was named on the bench by Ange Posteocglou ahead of Eric Dier for the clash against Brentford and he produced a solid display after replacing Cristian Romero (who suffered a concussion) early in the game.

Davinson Sanchez is proving popular over in France

It remains to be seen if Postecoglou’s plans for Sanchez have changed but it has now been reported by L’Equipe that the Spurs star is in the sights of several French clubs.

Out of those teams, Monaco are said to be the ‘most insistent’, with the report adding that it is only a ‘matter of time’ before they launch an offer for the former Ajax man.

The publication adds that Strasbourg are also continuing to keep an eye on Sanchez’s situation, having enquired about his availability earlier in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

This news could affect Tottenham in more ways than one, with Monaco widely reported to be the North London club’s main competitors for the signature of Tosin Adarabioyo. So, if the Ligue 1 club do sign Sanchez, that could make a deal for the Fulham man quite straight-forward for Spurs.
