Report: Ligue 1 club line up replacement for rumoured Spurs target

Lille are ready to sell Tottenham target Zeki Celik in the summer after identifying a replacement for the defender, according to reports.

Tottenham were first linked with a move for a Celik a couple of months ago when Turkish publication DHA reported that the right-back was recommended to manager Jose Mourinho by Tottenham coach Joao Sacramento ahead of the January window.

The defender’s impressive displays for Lille this season have also reportedly attracted interest from West Ham United (Turkish Football).

BuzzSport now report that Lille have lined up Strasbourg’s Kenny Lala as Celik’s replacement and are thus willing to let the Turkish international leave in the summer.

It is asserted that the club are looking for an offer of around £25 million to sanction the 23-year-old’s sale in the summer.

Right-back is one of the areas Spurs may look to strengthen in the summer as Mourinho targets a defensive rebuild.

Spurs Web Opinion

We definitely need to bring a right back in to compete with Serge Aurier and I believe we shouldn’t miss the opportunity to sign Max Aarons on a cut-price deal if Norwich City go down this season. However, a lot will depend on whether Jose sees Tanganga evolving into a right-back or a central defender.
