Report: Ligue 1 club set to reduced asking price of Spurs-linked player

According to a report in The Express, the asking price for rumoured Spurs target Serhou Guirassy is set to be slashed following Amiens’ relegation from Ligue 1.

The club have been relegated to Ligue 2 on a points-per-game basis after it was decided by the French authorities that the 2019/20 top flight campaign could not be completed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Guirassy has managed nine goals in 23 Ligue 1 appearances (transfermarkt.com), which is certainly an impressive tally considering his club’s struggles this season.

In fact, his goal tally does not even tell the full story as the 24-year-old’s hold up play and ability to bully opposition defences have arguably been the most impressive aspect of his performance.

Spurs were backed to move for Guirassay this summer with the striker expected to cost around £18million (Daily Mail).

However, The Express now claim that Amiens asking price is likely to have decreased significantly after their relegation was confirmed.

The report also suggests that Spurs could face competition from North London rivals Arsenal with Mikel Arteta said to be keen on taking the striker to the Emirates.

Spurs Web Opinion

While it does not look like Guirassy is near the top of the list of strikers Spurs are going for, I would be extremely surprised if a Premier League side does not snap him up this summer. The 24-year-old looks to have all the attributes to succeed in England, even if he might not be prolific in front of goal.
