Report: Ligue 1 club willing to let alleged Tottenham target leave on loan

According to Get French Football News, Lyon are willing to let rumoured Tottenham target Bruno Guimaraes leave on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Guimaraes has emerged as arguably one of the best holding midfielders in Ligue 1 since his move to Lyon two years ago.

The midfielder is reportedly sought after by several clubs across the continent, with Calciomercato.it claiming Tottenham are one of the clubs to have expressed interest in the 24-year-old.

According to reports, Antonio Conte is keen to bolster his central midfield options before the end of the month.

However, Spurs are thought to be facing competition from their North London rivals Arsenal for Guimaraes.

GFFN have revealed that Lyon are willing to let the Brazilian leave this month and are giving interested parties the option to complete an initial loan deal for the midfielder.

It is explained that the French club value the Brazilian international at €45m (£37.5m) but are willing to sanction a temporary loan deal with the obligation to pay the full fee in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect Conte would prefer a midfielder of Franck Kessie’s profile, who can play as a number eight (as Ndombele’s replacement), rather than a holding midfielder like Guimaraes.

In Skipp, Winks and Hojbjerg, the Italian might feel that he has enough defensive midfield options to push through until the end of the season.
