Tottenham Hotspur fans may be forced to wave goodbye to their playmaker star, Christian Eriksen, at the end of this season, with the Dane’s contract coming to an end in the summer.
Christian Eriksen already made his feelings clear about his future in the summer when he stated that he was ready for a new challenge and a step up away from Spurs (Ekstra Bladet).
However, it appears that Barcelona may not be on the cards for the midfield man, as reports out of Spain have claimed that Lionel Messi blocked his club from signing Eriksen in the summer (El Desmarque).
Messi apparently believes that Christian Eriksen has shirked responsibility when it comes to the biggest moments at Tottenham during his career. As a result, the Argentine did not want Eriksen as a teammate.
It remains to be seen where the playmaker goes in the next year, but he will be open to talk to non-English clubs about a pre-contract deal in January.
