Report: Liverpool are interested in signing 23-year-old Tottenham star

Despite his underwhelming first season in the Premier League, it appears that Tanguy Ndombele has caught the eye of the major domestic rival this year.

Foot Mercato have reported that league leaders Liverpool are interested in signing the Frenchman just one year after Spurs shattered their transfer record for him.

The report claims that Jurgen Klopp’s side wanted to sign Ndombele from Lyon last year before he transferred to Spurs for £53.06m (BBC).

However, the Reds have retained their interested and a loan move for him in the summer would be ‘ideal’ for the current European champions.

While Ndombele made the dream start to his Spurs career with a debut goal, he has only managed 12 Premier League starts all season, largely down to injuries and a lack of fitness.

Spurs Web Opinion:

What a ridiculous report. There is no way this happens. Liverpool would not sign an injury-prone central midfielder and Spurs would not sell their record signing after just one year. Not sure what the sense in a loan would be for Spurs either.
