Report: Liverpool considering £35m offer for Spurs-linked midfielder

The Sun claim that Liverpool are ready to enter the race for rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target David Brooks.

Brooks is said to have been on Tottenham’s radar for a long time, with the club reportedly trying to sign him last summer after his breakout season in the Premier League with Bournemouth and during his time at previous club Sheffield United (The Sun).

The Cherries star has failed to deliver the same standard of performances this campaign, partly due to injury problems.

However, it does not look like Tottenham’s interest in the 23-year-old has been dented, with reports indicating that the Lilywhites could make an offer for the midfielder following Bournemouth’s relegation (Mirror).

The Sun claim that the south coast outfit are almost certain to sell the Welsh international this summer.

It is revealed that Liverpool are ready to enter the race for Brooks with Jurgen Klopp having identified the former Blade as the man to bolster his attacking options.

It is suggested that the Reds are contemplating making a £35million offer for Brooks, who signed a new long-term deal at the Vitality Stadium last year (BBC).

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not be surprised if Jose wanted to bring in another wide player this summer in order to give us enough options to compete in four competitions. However, as talented as Brooks is, he is not nearly as effective out wide as he is in the middle. With Giovani Lo Celso, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela already in the squad, I do not see where the 23-year-old fits in at Spurs.
