90 min have revealed that Liverpool have now entered the race to sign Tottenham target, James Maddison.
Over the last few days, there have been some promising updates regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Maddison.
The Telegraph reported on Wednesday that Tottenham were now leading the race for the attacking midfielder’s signature in the summer.
The report added that Leicester City expect the 26-year-old to leave the King Power Stadium at the end of the season and would be ready to accept an offer of £50m for the player.
This was followed up by an update from Daily Mail reporter Craig Hope, who told Sky Sports News Hold the Back Page segment (05/04/23 – 22:35) that the Foxes star is more likely to end up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium than St James’ Park.
However, 90 min have now claimed that Liverpool are also laying the groundwork for a summer deal for Maddison.
The publication explains that both Spurs and the Reds have already reached out to the England international’s representatives to discuss a potential transfer.
The report adds that Newcastle United have not yet given up on their pursuit of Maddison and hope that Champions League qualification would help them convince the midfielder to come to the North East.
Spurs Web Opinion
It is difficult to see us winning the race for Maddison’s signature if we do not finish in the top four.
It is also vital that we sort out our managerial situation as soon as possible as I do not see the 26-year-old wanting to join the club without any clarity on which manager he would be playing for.
