Report: Liverpool enter race for Ligue 1 star Spurs allegedly sent proposal to

Liverpool are monitoring Rennes forward Martin Terrier and have identified the Tottenham target as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane, according to the Mirror.

Mane has been one of the Reds’ most important players since joining the club in 2016, but it is looking all the more likely that he will leave Merseyside this summer.

The 30-year-old has one year remaining on his current contract and Liverpool could now look to cash in on the Senegal international with Bayern Munich named as the most interested party (Fabrizio Romano).

And with a replacement likely needed heading into the new campaign, the Mirror have now claimed that Liverpool have added Terrier to their list of targets.

Terrier, 25, enjoyed a stellar campaign for the Ligue 1 side scoring 21 goals in 37 appearances last season (Transfermarkt), helping them to secure a place in next season’s Europa League.

But Liverpool’s interest comes alongside Tottenham’s, after it was reported that Antonio Conte’s side sent a proposal to try and sign the versatile French forward (Foot Mercato).

Spurs Web Opinion

Terrier had a very strong season for Rennes so it is no surprise that a number of clubs are starting to show interest this summer.

The fact that Liverpool believe he is good enough to directly replace a strong forward like Mane shows how much they believe in him, so it could be one for Spurs to keep track of too.

But they are a little packed up front in terms of forwards at the moment, so they will need to offload a couple for a move to be possible.
