According to a report carried by TEAMtalk, Liverpool have now moved into pole position ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Lloyd Kelly.
Tottenham strengthened their backline with the signing of Radu Dragusin from Genoa last month while they let Eric Dier join Bayern Munich.
The report says that Spurs want further additions in that area during the summer and continue to have their eye on Kelly, who allegedly has no intention of signing a new contract at Bournemouth and has decided to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
It is explained that both the Reds and the Lilywhites are aware of the situation and are now keen on striking a deal for the Englishman.

Liverpool in pole position to sign Lloyd Kelly
However, it is suggested that the North London side may face disappointment in their pursuit of Kelly as it is now Jurgen Klopp’s men who are in pole position in the race for the 25-year-old.
The report explains that Liverpool have identified the Cherries star as their top target to replace Joel Matip, who is out of contract at Anfield in June.
Interestingly, the update adds that the Merseyside club also have their eye on another one of Spurs’ centre-back targets – Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.

It will be very interesting to see if Postecoglou decides that Ashley Phillips is ready for a first-team role next season or if the Australian decides to sign another centre-back and perhaps loan the 18-year-old out to a Premier League club. Ange and Tottenham’s recruitment department would likely wait until the end of the season to make that decision.
