Report: Liverpool move would be ‘ultimate dream’ for Spurs target

If reports are to be believed, Tottenham are set to add considerably to their squad this summer after two transfer windows of complete inactivity.

Among the players, the club has been linked with is Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon (BBC). The 19-year-old had a difficult beginning to his first season in the Premier League but came into his own as the season went on.

However, Sessegnon’s performances couldn’t help the Cottagers avoid the drop. Now, the South-West London club are apparently resigned to letting the youngster leave in the summer as his contract with the club only has one more year remaining.

Manchester United are also said to be holding an interest in the pacey left-footer and have reportedly already made contact with Fulham over his potential signing (Sky Sports).

However, Express Sport now suggest that Sessegnon is a boyhood Liverpool supporter, and would prefer a move to the Reds over Spurs or United.

A source close to the player is quoted as saying that a move to Anfield would be the youngster’s ultimate dream.

Given that he is unlikely to cost a fortune now that Sessegnon is into the final year of his contract, we believe signing him would be a no-brainer for Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettino might just be the perfect man to make sure the youngster lives up to his potential.

Sessegnon might have supported the Reds growing up but a move to Tottenham in the summer will be difficult to turn down given Pochettino’s track record with younger players, and the direction the club is going in.
