Report: Liverpool set to enter race for midfielder said to be wanted by Spurs

The Daily Mail have revealed that Liverpool are now set to enter the race for rumoured Tottenham target, Alex Scott.

Scott has turned quite a lot of heads with his impressive displays in the middle of park for Bristol City this season, even drawing comparisons to Man City star Jack Grealish.

Tottenham are thought to be one of the clubs who are eyeing a move for the 19-year-old this summer, with GiveMeSport revealing last month that the Lilywhites had enquired about the youngster’s availability.

The report added that Nigel Pearson’s men are accepting of the fact that Scott will leave in the summer and hope to get around £30m for his services.

However, it was explained that Spurs could face quite a lot of competition for the midfielder’s signature, with the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Wolves and other top-flight clubs also thought to have their eye on the player.

If The Daily Mail’s latest update is to be believed, Liverpool are now also on Scott’s trail ahead of the summer transfer window.

The report explains that the Reds’ head of recruitment Dave Fallows and chief scout Barry Hunter have watched the 19-year-old in action recently.

Spurs Web Opinion

Scott will likely have a whole host of options to choose from in the summer and he would want to join a club where he feels he has a decent chance of establishing himself in the starting eleven.

He might be quite hesitant to join a club like Spurs or Liverpool. Perhaps that would change if we bring in a manager like Pochettino, who is known for trusting youth.
