Report: Liverpool snubbed Spurs offer on transfer deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur were one of the most active Premier League clubs in the summer transfer window.

Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho worked behind the scenes to land six new first-team signings in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilón and Carlos Vinícius.

Hart’s arrival has seen Paulo Gazzaniga lose his job as the understudy for Hugo Lloris in recent weeks to the former Manchester City and England goalkeeper.

The Express claim that the Argentine was offered to Liverpool on transfer deadline day with the Premier League champions currently without the services of the injured Alisson Becker and question marks having been raised over the form of Adrian.

The report suggests that Tottenham’s offer was rebuffed by the Anfield outfit, while a similar approach to neighbours Everton was also turned down after the Toffees decided to complete a loan move for Roma’s Robin Olsen.

Liverpool are said to have decided to keep faith with Adrian despite his mistake in the hammering by Aston Villa.
