Report: Liverpool to send scouts to watch Spurs target this weekend

According to reports from Turkey, Liverpool will send scouts to watch
Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir in action on Sunday as his side take on Galatasaray.

Cakir has been outstanding between the sticks for Trabzonspor this season, who find themselves just two points off the summit of the Turkish Super Lig table.

Earlier reports have claimed that Spurs have already seen an offer for the 24-year-old rejected by Trabzonspor (Karadeniz Gazete).

Newcastle United (HaberTS), Liverpool (TuttoMercatoWeb), and Sevilla (Sporx) have also been credited with an interest in the shot-stopper.

Asist Analiz now report that Liverpool will send representatives to Istanbul to watch Cakir in action this Sunday.

The report suggests that the Premier League champions could look to begin negotiations with Trabzonspor for the Turkish international after the match.

The Reds are said to be keen on stealing a march on the various other clubs vying for the young goalkeepers’ signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

Out of all the goalkeepers we have been linked with, there is no doubt that Cakir probably has the highest ceiling in terms of how good he can become. While I do not expect us to sign a potential first-choice goalkeeper this summer, I do not see why Cakir will want to join Liverpool given that Alisson Becker is unlikely to be dislodged as the club’s number one. I believe the 24-year-old can be convinced to come to Spurs over Liverpool, if we really wanted him.
