Report: Lo Celso and Ceballos alternative could be available for just £35m

If reports are to be believed, Pochettino and Tottenham Hotspur seem to be keen on signing a new central attacking midfielder this summer.

This could stem from Christian Eriksen’s desire to leave the club in search of a set up and a new challenge, leaving a hole in the playmaker role for the Lilywhites (Ekstra Bladet).

The BBC reported that Spurs bid £53m for Argentine attacking midfielder, Giovani Lo Celso, last month with Real Betis turning it down as it was too far from the player’s £88m buyout.

Reports claim that Betis want something closer to €75m if they are to sell up this summer (Mucho Deporte).

Meanwhile, Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Real Madrid attacking mid, Dani Ceballos (Sky Sports), after an impressive run of games for the Spanish side at the U21 European Championships.

Reports indicate that he could set the Lilywhites back around £45m this summer if secured on a permanent deal (AS).

However, HITC argue that Tottenham should be pushing for a more cost-efficient option in Julian Draxler, who is reportedly available for just £35m this window (Daily Star).

Spurs Web Opinion:

While I would be open to a £35m deal for Draxler, I would much rather sign Ceballos or Lo Celso. At the moment, I would be leaning more towards Ceballos due to his recent performances in the U21 Spain team, as well as his significantly smaller price tag.
