According to a report by Mundo Depertivo, Chelsea could swoop for rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Ousmane Dembele in January.
Over the past week, there has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of Dembele, whose contract at the Camp Nou runs out at the end of the season.
Sources from Spain claimed last week that Spurs’ managing director of football Fabio Paratici was keen on bringing the French international to North London and that the North Londoners had promised the winger a ‘lot of money’ to sign for the club.
Sport then reported a few days ago that while Barca hope to tie Dembele down to a new contract, the 24-year-old’s agent had already rejected multiple offers from the club.
The report further added that the Catalan giants were aware that the French international’s agent had already spoken to the likes of Spurs, Chelsea and Juventus.
According to Mundo Depertivo’s latest report, Dembele could be bound for Stamford Bridge.
The report explains that Chelsea and Manchester United could both make offers to the winger that Barcelona would not be in a position to meet.
It is suggested that the relationship that Dembele has with Thomas Tuchel from his Borussia Dortmund days could help the Blues clinch the deal for the Spurs target.

If it is true that both Chelsea and Spurs want Dembele, then Tuchel’s presence at Stamford Bridge might give the men from West London the edge.
However, perhaps Tottenham can convince the 24-year-old that he has a much better chance of being an important player in North London under Conte than he does at Chelsea.
