Report: Lyon president reveals player linked with Spurs wants to leave

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that he has not received any offers for midfielder Nabil Fekir.

The French midfielder was on the verge of a move to Liverpool last year before the transfer fell through at a very late stage.

Tottenham have previously been linked with a move for the 25-year-old (Le Parisien) but instead, have seen more speculation surrounding his team-mate Tanguy Ndombele who is said to be firmly on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar (The Sun).

Aulas revealed that Fekir still has his heart on a move away from Lyon but no potential suitors are yet to formally approach him.

Liverpool have also been rumoured to be ready rekindle their interest in the attacking midfielder despite the fact that they were said to have shelved their interest nearly twelve months ago over concerns relating to a historic knee injury (Evening Standard).

Fekir had been photographed in a Liverpool shirt and even conducted an interview with the club before the £53million deal vanished into thin air.

Aulas told Lyon’s official website about Fekir, as translated by The Mirror: “His preference is towards a departure. We are open to discussions. We have no news.

“We are waiting for proposals in the coming days but for the moment we do not have any.”

Opinion

It seems highly unlikely that Daniel Levy would broker a deal for both Fekir and Ndombele from the same club when he is already said to be in tough negotiations with the French club for Ndombele
