Report: Madrid make contact over Eriksen deal

Christian Eriksen’s contract with Tottenham comes to end in 2020 and based on the noise coming out of the club, it doesn’t appear as if the Dane is too keen on extending his current deal.

It is claimed that Tottenham are prepared to offer the 26-year-old upwards of £200,000 a week but Eriksen’s main concerns aren’t financial.

According to a report in the Independent, Real Madrid have noticed Eriksen’s unwillingness to commit his long-term future to Tottenham and have made initial contact over a transfer which they wish to compete in the summer.

The report also claims that Madrid are hoping to get the playmaker for around the £100 million mark owing to time running out on his contract. The Dane is said to be one of Real’s primary targets along with Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard.

Eriksen supposedly harbours a desire to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona and it is suggested that he will stay in North London if neither of those moves comes to fruition.

One of Tottenham’s long-term targets Isco is also rumored to be close to leaving Los Blancos, which could set up a possibility of a swap deal in the summer.
