Report makes claim about Daniel Levy’s thoughts on Conte and Pochettino swap

RMC Sport have claimed that Daniel Levy is not opposed to Antonio Conte taking over at Paris Saint-Germain if it means that Mauricio Pochettino could return to Tottenham Hotspur.

Reports have emerged over recent days suggesting that Conte has offered himself to PSG on a two-year contract (La Parisien).

It has been suggested that Conte taking over from Pochettino in Paris would open the door for the Argentine to complete a sensational return to Spurs (The Times).

GFFN have even stated that Levy has been in contact with Pochettino over recent months and is trying to convince the 50-year-old to return to N17.

According to RMC Sport’s latest update, Conte’s long-term vision does not match up with Levy’s and the Spurs chairman would thus not be against the idea of parting ways with the Italian.

It is said that Levy would welcome the idea of bringing Pochettino back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer. As a result, the report claims that Spurs and PSG could work out a financial arrangement to swap their current managers.

One of the reasons I find this quite hard to believe is because of the fact that Fabio Paratici is the one calling the shots when it comes to footballing decisions at Spurs.

I do not think the Tottenham managing director would work particularly well with Pochettino as his managerial choices (Nuno and Conte) indicate that the Italian has quite a different philosophy from that of the Argentine.

This could simply be a case of PSG putting this speculation out there to unsettle Spurs as a means to get back at the North London club for doing the same regarding Pochettino last summer.
